ASEAN and APEC: Championing Free Trade and Multilateralism

AS THE LEADERS of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum prepare to convene in South Korea from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1, the region stands at a critical juncture in the evolution of international economic co-operation. Under the overarching theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow,” this gathering will focus on three key priorities: “Connect, Innovate, and Prosper.” These principles reflect APEC’s enduring commitment to fostering an open, dynamic and resilient Asia-Pacific community capable of addressing shared challenges through collective action.
