Ambassador RIM Kap-soo Delivered Lecture for ASE Postgraduates
On January 15, 2024, H.E. Mr. RIM Kap-soo , Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Romania, who started his official mandate in March 2022, delivered a special lecture to the postgraduate students of Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE). The event was jointly organized by the Faculty of International Business Relations (REI) of Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), represented by Professor Anca Ilie, PhD - Vice-Dean of REI and IRSEA, represented by Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, President & Founder of IRSEA.
On this occasion, Ambassador RIM Kap-soo and his accompanying team was warmly received and entertained by Professor Marius Constantin Profiroiu, PhD –Vice Rector, University of Economic Studies.
During the friendly discussion, prior to the lecture, Ambassador RIM Kap-soo got a fundamental presentation of the rich history and outstanding results of the University of Economic Studies. Both sides were agreed to further explore the avenues for academic cooperation between the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and Universities in the Republic of Korea.
The title of the special lecture was “Economic Diplomacy: Case of the Republic of Korea – Romania Diplomatic and Economic Relations” and was presented in a comprehensive, illuminating and captivating diplomatic and professional style, to the admiration and full satisfaction of the future young specialists of Romania in the economic international relations.
The intellectually stimulating Q&A session following the Ambassador’s presentation represented a remarkable opportunity for the students of ASE-REI to interact with and learn from his long diplomatic experience and broad expertise in international relations resulting in deepening their knowledge in the field of Economic Diplomacy and, not only.
A pleasant and reciprocal surprising moment occurred when Ambassador RIM Kap-soo delivered his introduction in Romanian language and, during the Q&A session, a postgraduate student raised her question in Korean language.
Co-organiser of the event and avid supporter of Europe-Asia international academic cooperation, Professor Anca Ilie, PhD – Vice Dean, one of the most prominent figures in the Romanian academia, at the beginning introduced Ambassador RIM Kap-soo to the audience and at the concluding part warmly congratulated him for his insightful presentation, while thanking him for sharing, in a frank way and a real spirit of friendship, his views with the REI students.
On the occasion, IRSEA’s President and Founder, Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, who was the moderator of the lecture, congratulated the honorable guest speaker in the aftermath of the event and admired his outstanding expertise and fruitful experience as well as his tireless work to impulse and consolidate the solid and strategic bilateral relations between Romania and the Republic of Korea.
Based on the existing partnership between IRSEA and ASE, the two institutions frequently, particularly with the assistance of REI, co-organize guest lectures, round-tables and webinars, hosting distinguished Ambassadors in Bucharest, influential International Relations professionals and academics, all of it with an aim to tray to help the students to deep their knowledge about the world in which they are going to perform according to their professional skill and expectations.
