On July 21, 2021, The Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Karnavati University of Gujarat, India, in the presence of the two institutions’ leaders.
On behalf of IRSEA, Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, President and Founder of the Institution, stated during the MoU Signing Ceremony that the moment marks the beginning of a fruitful relation between Romania’s oldest think-tank focused on Europe-Asia relations and one of India’s most prestigious academic and research institutions. IRSEA’s President manifested his sincere hopes that the inter-institutional agreement will positively contribute to raising awareness on Romania’s importance in Asia and India, in particular, as well as India’s role as an increasingly important regional actor in Asia. Ambassador Savuica gladly recalled his lovely memories of India, while congratulating the leaders of Karnavati University for their outstanding results.
On behalf of Karnavati University, Prof. Dr. Rajesh S, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, stressed on the importance of education as the most important sector for people-to-people ties between two countries. This is particularly true because the target audience happens to be young, smart and influential. He also expressed his immense pleasure to collaborate with the Romanian Institute of Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA), Romania, and sincere beliefs that Karnavati University and IRSEA will immensely benefit from the MoU in respect of Europe-Asia Studies.
Having signed the agreements during an on-line Ceremony, the representatives of the two institutions further discussed practical means of cooperation, such as publishing collaborative research articles, organising a joint roundtable conference in the Autumn of 2021 and establishing an institutional point-of-contact to permanently liaise on academic matters.
As Romania’s first independent, autonomous, not-for-profit Romanian think-tank, IRSEA is focused on raising awareness on Europe-Asia relations and Area Studies. Besides a consistent track of international cooperation, the Romanian think-tank has designed and developed several inclusive dialogue platforms, such as IRSEA Distinguished Speakers, IRSEA Roundtable, IRSEA Diplomatic Training Programme, as well as research programmes and weekly foreign policy briefings.
