On September 2019, IRSEA’s President and founder, H.E. Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Săvuică, hosted a dinner in the honour of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr. Tilak Marapana.
The dinner was occasioned by H.E. the Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs visit to Romania. While welcoming H.E. to Romania, IRSEA’s President, H.E. Gheorghe Săvuică manifested his confidence in the excellent bilateral relations among the two great countries and exchanged views in a friendly atmosphere.
The two discussed further opportunities of strengthening IRSEA’s cooperation with Sri Lankan institutes and think tanks in order to explore new dimensions of the Europe-Asia Area Studies and generate pertinent discussions in the field.
The Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Affairs manifested his sincere wishes for a more robust cooperation among the international relations and foreign policy researchers of Sri Lanka and Romania, acknowledging the quick pace of the international developments in the international arena requires more joint research projects and intensifying academic exchanges.
H.E. Gheorghe Săvuică is a former Ambassador and Head of Mission in Sri Lanka. Currently, he acts in his capacity as Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka in Romania.
