On October 16, 2023,  as expression of the excellent long-term cooperation between The Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA) and the Faculty of International Business and Economics (REI), Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica continued IRSEA’s “Diplomatic Training Programme”, initiated in 2009.

 

The programme comprised of an interactive course on “Norms of Diplomatic Practice” taught to the first 2023 batches of postgraduate students of ASE pursuing a master’s degree in“Economic Diplomacy”, at REI.

 

Organised with the valuable support of Prof. Anca Ilie, PhD, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of International Business and Economics (REI) of ASE, the module provided the postgraduatestudents with norms and instruments to employ in their future work, be it in Public Diplomacy,

Economic Diplomacy or at corporate level.

 

 At the end of the lecture, the trainees addressed questions to the course instructor, particularly dedicated to the field of International Relations and the role of Diplomacy as well as to his most responsible and risky diplomatic experiences.

 

The post graduate students have been awarded with Certicates of participation at the course.

 

 

 

Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, IRSEA’s Founding President, is one of Romania's longest serving career diplomats, former Head of Mission, with Cabinet Letter, to SriLanka, Malaysia, Cyprus, Finland/ Estonia, The Philippines, Ambassador to Pakistan and Indonesia and, former Director-General of the Asia-Pacific, Near and Middle East, Africa and Latin America Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
