ASEAN through its Partnership system is taking measures to maintain and consolidate peace, security and resilience in the region, and beyond, under the circumstances of being themselves already affected by the international geopolitical rivalries and local tensions.
IRSEA would like to present two documents, namely, Vientiane Joint- Declaration adopted in November this year by The ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) and, respectively, the Joint Statement adopted by The ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM Plus), containing the solutions of keeping secure and in peace Asia-Pacific, and not only. Besides their significant substance, one should keep in mind that in the global partnership structure of ASEAN are attracted almost all deciding world and regional leaders and states. The participants at the two above mentioned important events signed these final documents, which according to the participants, “REITERATE the importance of multilateralism and regionalism within the framework of the ADMM and ADMM-Plus in reaffirming ASEAN unity and resilience in addressing common challenges, in order to maintain peace and security of the region and beyond”
