H.E. Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, President and Founder of IRSEA, Exchanges Congratulatory Letters with H.E. Ambassador Toru Morikawa, Executive Director of ASEF

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), H.E Ambassador (p) Gheorghe Savuica, President and Founder of the Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA), addressed a congratulatory letter to H.E. Ambassador Toru Morikawa, Executive Director of Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Singapore, extending his “warmest congratulations and best wishes of greater success to Your Institution as well as my most cordial congratulations and personal wishes of happiness to Your Excellency in the fulfillment of your noble task.” Ambassador Savuica equally manifested his sincere hope for the formal partnership between IRSEA and ASEF to be “further developed and strengthened for the common interests of our two Institutions.”

In response, Ambassador Morikawa expressed his appreciation for IRSEA being “a valued partner in sharing ASEF’s mission of bringing Asia and Europe closer“, and commended the Romanian think-tank for its “efforts in promoting a robust and meaningful interaction between these two regions.”

At the end of his letter, ASEF’s Executive Director manifested his hope for “an opportunity to discuss concrete avenues of co-operation between IRSEA and ASEF.”

ASEF is an intergovernmental not-for-profit organisation which brings together the peoples of Asia and Europe to address common global challenges by advancing mutual understanding and collaboration between the people of Asia and Europe through opportunities that enable an exchange of ideas; acting as the civil society outreach of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), and works as a platform for Asia-Europe dialogue to stimulate permanent networks that reinforce Asia-Europe bi-regional relations; acting as an interface between civil society and ASEM governments and consequently, contributes to the ASEM process by generating unique recommendations for officials’ consideration.
