IRSEA’s President and Founder, Ambassador Savuica, Holds Seminar with the MA for Diplomacy at the Faculty of International Economic Relations,Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE)

Ambassador Savuica, President and Founder of the Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies (IRSEA), held a webinar with the postgraduate students for master’s degree in ‘’Economic Diplomacy and Diplomatic and Protocol Practices” conducted by Prof. Dr. Anca Ilie, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations, Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE).

The webinar benefited of the gracious presence as host of Prof. Dr. Anca Ilie, Honorary Member of IRSEA.

Among the topics approached were the scope of economic diplomacy in the 21st century, rules of diplomatic protocol and subtleties associated with the diplomatic practice. The participants, postgraduates in Diplomacy, intend to pursue a career in diplomacy and other adjacent fields.

The speaker, Ambassador Gheorghe Săvuică, is one of Romania's longest serving career diplomats, former Head of the Mission to Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Philippines and former Director-General of the Asia-Pacific, Near and Middle East, Africa and Latin America Department of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the end of the webinar, all the participants manifested their will to deepen their knowledge in the field of diplomacy by enrolling in the future sessions of the IRSEA Diplomatic Training Programme. The Institute has been hosting training sessions in diplomacy since 2015. Due to the pandemic, the programme has been temporarily suspended since 2020 and is expected to be reopened as soon as the restrictions ease.

The postgraduates were granted the Certificate for participating in IRSEA “Applied Diplomacy” course on the 6th of April, 2021.
