On February 2, 2018, President of IRSEA, in his capacity as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Sri Lanka in Romania, organized an event to mark the 70th anniversary of Sri Lanka's Independence Day. The event was attended by ambassadors and heads of mission from countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, representatives of MFA, university professors, honorary consuls, presidents of analysis and research institutes, public figures, students, undergraduates and representatives of Romanian media.
